Specialty cabinets are not your run of the mill cabinetry. In this category we include Wall Units, Consoles, Hexes and Consoles. Ordered for specific needs to meet the customer’s wishes. The aquariums maybe glass or acrylic. Most of the designs are based upon existing cabinetry, just tweaked a bit to meet the customers needs. In fact the customer usually is the one who does all of the designing.

Console cabinetry totally encloses the viewing sides of the aquarium. The base, the canopy and the sides all work to completely cover the structural aspects of the aquarium. The effect is that of a picture framed viewing of the contents of the aquarium. Very nice.

Wall Units are aquariums that have a built in look. They may be free standing along a wall or fit into an existing alcove or closet. They may even have side cabinetry. Typically the aquarium is in the middle and there are book case ends on each side. The styling of the bookcases match that of the aquarium cabinetry. A seamless look is the objective. Wall units can be rectangular, square, bowed or hexed.

Hex cabinetry is popular with custom built acrylic aquariums. Any BRI cabinet can be converted into a hex design. Including Islands. Most hexes fall into two designs. Flat back and corner. Both are quite unique and beautiful.

Custom cabinetry is simply custom. Designed by the pet store or the owner, they all have their own unique look. The designs may reflect particular needs or match existing motifs that are already in place.
